6 MYTHS ABOUT HAIR 💇🏼♀️
⠀
1. YOU CAN NEVER HAVE TOO MUCH PRODUCT
FALSE!
With good, high quality haircare products, a little goes a long way.
I always use JUST A SMALL AMOUNT to do not increase the chances to weighs my hair down and makes it seem dull and flat. Many brands are sustainable and creating concentrated products, so start to operate with a less is more mindset. You can always add if you feel like you need more!
⠀
2. A WASH A DAY KEEPS THE HAIR A-OKAY
FALSE! Okay, half-false.
The more you wash, the more you strip your hair of some of the things it needs to maintain a healthy balance. The more amount of product you use…aha, point number 1.
Wash your scalp and not your hair if you really need it daily, do not put schampo to the whole length of your hair and try to use at least half amount of product!
P.S. Believe me, I was shocked when I saw first time HOW MUCH products my husband use…more than I do! But his hair are much shorter! You are not just waisting money (A LOT), but also destroying your own hair.
One tea spoon is usually more than enough!

3. CUTTING YOUR HAIR FREQUENTLY MAKES IT GROW FASTER.FALSE!
Let’s think wisely – our hair are growing from the roots, right? The few reasons to cut your hair are aesthetic and splited ends (with them is impossible to grow the length). Think more about the roots and your body and health in general!
4. CHANGE SHAMPOO EVERY 3 MONTH, BECAUSE IT STOPS WORKING
FALSE!
Keep thinking logically, we didn’t stop eating some grocery for this reason, right?) So, the idea of using shampoo for your scalp or for your hair (Yes, they can be different!) is to get the specific result – more volume or more hydration for example, or even hydrate your roots or help your hair to grow faster. Decide what you want for your hair and pick a shampoo based on that!
5. AIR-DRYING IS HEALTHIER THAN BLOW-DRY
FALSE!
The interior of the hair swells when exposed to water for extended periods of time, creating more damage than heat styling. Your best bet is to use the lowest heat setting on your dryer (and I always recommend @dyson as the most delicate hairdryer on the market), making sure to move the dryer continuously, so you don’t concentrate heat on any one spot for too long.
6. WHEN YOU HAVE A LONG HAIR YOU LOSE MORE OF IT!
FALSE (but it can really feel so)
Every day about 150 hairs fall from our head. And, imagine please 150 hair from the short haircut and 150 hair from my head! The volume is dramatically different.
If you still doubt, go to the salon and ask the hairdresser if he can see this problem (usually the biggest amount you can see during the washing and shampooing).
P.S. However, twice a year, usually in spring and in fall, our hair goes through a phase called telogen (also known as the resting phase of the hair follicle). During this stage, it is not growing anymore and simply lies on our heads. This is why you start losing hair in such big amounts. Then new hair (the anagen stage) start to appear in the emptied hair follicles.
